Unlocking AGRIS Without Rewriting It

A system of record that didn’t need replacing

AGRIS was the backbone of Cultura’s agricultural ERP business. Installed across hundreds of grain retailers and cooperatives, it managed contracts, bids, balances, payments, and trading workflows. It was stable, embedded, and trusted… but stuck on site.

For customers, that meant data lived inside the office. Growers couldn’t check bids from the field, review contracts remotely, or access account information without calling in. Staff handled repetitive requests that slowed decisions and strained service teams.

The system was trusted, proven to work, and deeply integrated into daily operations. 

Cultura needed to extend real-time data beyond the office – to web and mobile – without disrupting the core platform their customers depended on. The opportunity wasn’t to replace the system of record, but to build a secure engagement layer around it and unlock more value from what already existed.

Unlocking hundreds of on-prem deployments

Cultura’s challenge wasn’t a single instance of AGRIS… it was hundreds.

Each customer ran AGRIS on-premise, inside their own environment. Data was distributed across the country, secured behind firewalls, and never designed for cloud access.

So, Modularis built MyGrower as a single-source, multi-tenant web application designed to bolt directly onto AGRIS. Using proprietary agent gateway technology, we securely connected each on-prem deployment to the cloud without altering the core system.

This architecture allowed real-time, two-way synchronization between AGRIS and MyGrower. Growers could access live data from any device, while AGRIS remained the authoritative system.

Instead of replacing hundreds of installations, Cultura extended them and gained the ability to generate new revenue at the same time.

From phone calls to digital workflows

Before MyGrower, growers had to call the office to check bids, review contracts, confirm balances, or process payments. Access to essential information depending on business hours, office staff, and follow-up… slowing decisions and frustrating customers who needed real-time answers. 

MyGrower changed that. Growers gained 24/7 access to balances, contracts, bids, and payments from any device, all synchronized directly with AGRIS. Contracts could be signed electronically, payments made securely, and updates delivered in real time… anywhere.

The result was a massively better customer experience: faster access, less friction, and higher satisfaction – with the added benefit of reducing repetitive calls and paperwork for internal teams.

Expanding revenue without platform risk

By adding a modern engagement layer, MyGrower expanded AGRIS instead of attempting to replace it. Cultura introduced new digital capabilities without disrupting the core platform.

Features like online bill pay, real-time bids, mobile access, and digital contract management made AGRIS more valuable in growers’ daily operations. As adoption increased, Cultura gained new opportunities to offer additional services and deepen relationships with existing customers.

What began as improved access quickly became a platform for growth… strengthening loyalty while creating new revenue opportunities tied directly to the digital experience. 

Because AGRIS remained the authority, the expansion carried minimal platform risk. Cultura preserved a proven product while building new capabilities that positioned the business for long-term growth.

Still live and growing under Greenstone

Years after Modularis’ engagement and launch, MyGrower remains in production under Greenstone, a Cultura company. The platform continues to support growers with real-time access, digital workflows, and cloud connectivity. With the MyGrower foundation in place, Greenstone has continued to introduce new features and digital capabilities that expand value for growers and agribusiness customers alike.
